I attended Colorado State University for my undergraduate education, completing my BS in Psychology. In 2004. I then took a couple years to enjoy the mountain lifestyle and recreational opportunities here in Eagle County. After those two years, I pursued my graduate studies at the University of Denver and obtained my MA in Counseling Psychology in 2008. I went on to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have been working as a clinician since 2008. I went on to acquire a MA in Applied Sports Psychology from Adams State University and became a Mental Performance Coach (MPC).

I have spent the majority of this time working in Community Behavioral Health, supporting my community’s needs and treating clients with all presenting issues and from a large variety of demographics. Through my professional career, I have pursued ongoing training in a variety of therapeutic modalities. I have completed training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and more. The combination of my continuing training in these treatment modalities and 17 years of clinical experience; provides me with a vast background of experience and a flexible skill set that helps me work with a large variety of clients and issues that they are facing.

As a Mental Performance Coach, I bank on my passion and knowledge of many different sports and competitive environments. I have worked professionally with a variety of elite athletes from various snowsports disciplines including alpine racing, mogul skiers, freestyle skiers and snowboards, and nordic skiers. I have worked with hockey, soccer, basketball, and cycling athletes, along with many others.  I have spent time working with executives and managers within corporate settings to increase their leadership skills and mental performance.  This experience and knowledge, combined with the multitude of clinical modalities I have trained in, allows me to pull from a vast repertoire of skills, approaches, and strategies to help individuals build their mental strength and performance.

P E R S O N A L

I grew up outside of Chicago and moved out to Colorado after high school. While completing my undergraduate education and continuing my competitive soccer career, I quickly fell in love with all of the adventures and activities that the mountains have to offer. After taking a bit of time to enjoy the mountain lifestyle, I was committed to establishing my future in the mountains. I became very passionate and involved in the snowboard world, both in my personal riding and coaching snowboard athletes. Throughout my life, I have always found passion in sports and athletic pursuits, from my many years in competitive soccer, to snowboarding, to biking, and hockey.  I now balance my time between spending time with my wonderful family, my professional pursuits, and the personal activities that most often find me active and in nature. I enjoy adventures of all kinds with my wife, two children, and dog. I encourage all my clients to live a balanced life and have worked hard to ensure that I am doing the same.
